Has a director’s style been so evident in a Marvel movie before? I really don’t think so! Sam Raimi’s campy horror really fit in so well. A lot of this really reminded me of Drag Me To Hell but in Marvel.
Another thing I really liked about this is the fact that this could have been another Marvel movie where the stakes are way too high but what I really enjoyed more about this is that it is character driven. Wanda trying to find her kids, corrupted by the darkhold, Stephen having to prove himself that he’s not a bad strange.
There are some things that are kind of bad yes. Some of the dialogue a bit clunky, the CGI in some scene is glaringly awful.
But all in all, it hits the ground running, introduces some cool characters, namely America Chavez, and is the MCU’s first horror movie!
