Movies are rotting my already decaying brain
Originally when I saw the Joker, I couldn’t help but compare it to Taxi Driver. It irked me beyond belief that a film no less than 40 years later could blatantly rip off another. Well a few years later I’ve come to an understanding, almost every film is a rip off of something, and it’s only a matter if it’s a good copy or not. I think what really got me was the constant praise being thrown Joker’s way, but…
I could be missing the point of some peoples reviews, but I think this film doesn’t need to have much in the way of a plot. It’s not really invested in creating a deep line of characters, it’s more of a moment in time than anything. Showing that something like Columbine can happen any ordinary day, and I think Van Sant did an excellent job here.
Of course it’s not exactly like Columbine, and yes it would have been more…
Another addition of, what the hell Mubi? Which is a great thing, I love the random stuff that appears whenever I open the app. It’s like a thrift store box full of bizarre clothing items, only a rare few feel somewhat familiar.
Nothing exactly happens in this film, honestly I just like the title so I watched it. Unless you have a soft spot for books flapping in the wind, how MAJESTIC!
Yeah that’s about it, 10 whole minutes of nöthing.
