Bethany’s review published on Letterboxd:
david fincher is slowly becoming my favourite director. he has a way of making the viewer completely zone in on what they're watching. he always has a way of keeping us guessing and making sure we are always paying attention. zodiac is one of those films where you're constantly on the edge of your seat waiting to find out what happens next.
jake gyllenhaal shines in every role he takes but as robert graysmith he really had me convinced that he was an ex eagle scout cartoonist who cared more about catching the zodiac killer than his own family. that man has TALENT.
the thing i love the most about fincher's filmography is that he doesn't need to use blood or guts or gore to get his point across or to make a good movie. a simple “mr. graysmith, i do the posters myself” gets everyone fucked up and questioning everything they had watched 2 hours previous to that.
“just because you can’t prove it doesn’t mean it isn’t true.”
