As perfect as a movie can get. One of the craziest comedies ever, and wow so colourful and gorgeous to look at. I actually love the first half of the movie with all the strange adult characters trying to find the golden tickets, it’s just so odd and weird and strange, the quirky mind of Roald Dahl. The second half of the film is fabulous, so iconic with Gene Wilder as Willy Wonka, and the children hamming it up, what a joy. Put this in the list of comfort movies, there’s something about it that makes you feel good when watching. Laugh out loud funny, absolute candy for the eyes, lovely songs (Cheer Up, Charlie is my favourite), fabulous performances, it’s perfect and I wouldn’t change a thing about it.
And yes, I agree, Grandpa Joe is a lazy ass!!
