  I'm afraid Mr. Carax has neither a grasp of the English language as poetry nor an understanding for what makes musicals special. These songs have no lyrical depth, only serving to deliver basic exposition with basic imagery (OMG his scar got bigger) and an uninteresting story to back it up. It's simply too incompetent for its own good. Ugly, boring, The Wiggles for A24 soy consoomers.
