“What’s going to become of me”
Beautifully crafted and expertly acted, Florian Zeller’s emotionally charged yet angrily hopeful take on dementia is absolutely terrifying to watch unfold, as your never fully aware of the films mind altering perceptions until it unfortunately becomes to late. The films focus on a unreliable narrator really works here as Anthony Hopkins gives one of his finest and most vulnerable performances of the last few years, who along side Olivia Colman provides a real masterclass in acting. This combined with the incredibly soft and personal cinematography gives a real understandability by the end, as loosing your perception of the people you see, the objects you carry and the memories you’ve made, is one of the scariest things humans deal with.
