Ben Challonerβs review published on Letterboxd:
Itβs been such a good year for horror so far, but it just keeps getting better! This film is fucking awesome!
Sharply scripted, brilliantly paced, incredible use of location, excitingly shot and lit, lush score from Disasterpiece and such a cool collection of epic female performers. The game kept me guessing the whole way through and the ending had me rolling π€£
Not since THE DESCENT has the relationship between a group of female friends in a genre movie slapped so hard! Whilst this is a slasher at heart it really is about the grudges and judgements we hold within our closest circles. The way the madness unfolds is so damn entertaining!
Each cast member brings something fun to the table but once again Rachel Sennott stole the show for me, and itβs not just because sheβs playing a podcaster! She was remarkable in SHIVA BABY but here she is just having an absolute blast in this satirical social commentary sandbox!
This is absolutely one of my favourite films of the year! The more I think about it the more I like it, and I canβt wait to watch it again to see how it lands once you know the whole story. Halina Reijn is definitely an exciting new voice and I canβt wait to see her next project!
