Walking out of the theatre someone working the premiere asked a moviegoer what they thought of the movie, and they replied, “Very avant-garde”. That seemed like an odd reaction to a bloody Norse revenge flick. There were some trippy Valhalla moments though.
The Northman is built like a pro wrestler, and he is good with a sword. It’s a bloody good time. My son really wanted to go with me. He’d probably love it, but he’s too young for it.
My favorite part was the lack of quick cuts during the action. The camera pans along with the actors extending the action to one cut.
