early on pick for my favorite movie of the year judas and the black messiah has all the pieces to be an all time great. a fantastic director in shaka king who utilizes every tool at his disposal to make a visually stunning and well edited film. two of the best performances of the past few years by lakeith and daniel kaluuya who have to be two of the best of our time. an amazing ensemble anchored by dominique fishback w incredible performances throughout. a thoughtful narrative w amazing pacing. great music and an ending that i will not stop thinking abt for a while. god i fucking luv this film and it came right on time w everything going on in the world. poignant as ever everyone pls go check it out and support filmmakers like shaka king!!!

on a side note this is the best movie watching experience i’ve had in so long. waiting until midnight for this to come out made it feel like i was a kid again going to the midnight premier of catching fire:)
