Beau’s review published on Letterboxd:
This was the last film of the weekend, and I managed to snag a front row seat in a sold out theater. This all made for an absolute blast of a watch, and it was a great way to end the festival.
The highlight of Knives Out has to be the performances. Everybody in the film was an absolute joy to watch; Daniel Craig is hilarious, Ana de Armas was pretty great in the lead role, and the rest of the supporting cast was fantastic.
The film does great as not taking itself too seriously. The comedy mostly works very well, and while the film is incredibly cheesy, it’s very self aware and the over the top aspects never took me out of the film.
I ended up really enjoying this one, and it was a great way to wrap up the festival. I had a blast this weekend, and I can’t wait to come back next year!
