I was shocked by how good this Svengoolie film. It's the sort of heady literate science fiction that you would never expect to be turned into a film prior to Star Trek. Wow much misogyny, such commentary. Film bros must worship.
It's almost like exploring misogyny, toxic masculinity, domestic abuse, and sexual assault doesn't work tonally with your mid life crisis buddy improv self described "comedy." Usually in movies where you're "not supposed to like the protagonists" there's satirical themes or something deeper going on but that doesn't really work for cinema veritae improv film. Instead it just makes it seem like you find sexism, abuse, and assault quirky or endearing topics. Fucking yikes. At least the cinematography is decent.
