    OCTOBER 2022 HORRORS!

    I watched this on a recommendation and now I recommend you do not let curiosity get the better of you and move on. There is really nothing here. Even my son, who loves found footage, found this one way too bland, and it is. It brings nothing new to the table and what it apes from other films in the sub-genre, it apes badly.

    After Argento's amazing debut The Bird with the Crystal Plumage his sophomore effort is a bit of a drag. Where TBWTCP comes out swinging and defines Argento's take on gialli and sketches out some of the themes and interests that would drive his entire filmography, Cat o Nine Tails does... less.     I feel like I’ve seen films like this before. Introduce a locked door and spend the entire narrative making you beg to see inside. It is simple device and though it works, it creates a loose bond with the audience. Once you see what lies behind that locked door you no longer have any use for the narrative. Mystery is fickle that way.
