Halloween III: Season of the Witch

Halloween III: Season of the Witch

like any honest apocalypse halloween iii lingers and creeps along the edges riding atop big open-handed nondescript strokes with whispers of absurdity that eventually grow louder until that absurdity is indistinguishable from that mundanity it's borne of, blanketing itself in the uncanniness of all these screens, itself becoming the odd distant phantasm it frames as the purveyor of dread... those empty bodies in empty doorways here and there and nowhere and the peering eyes of a town with no soul, in the town as a zombie guarding and hiding away it's rotting core that spreads like a plague of locusts (literally haha). even with his presence in this seemingly unrelated digression/fantasia wherever michael myers can't be the camera in turn can be, making carpenter's original thesis startlingly and acidically literal.
