    somehow holds onto the incredible intimacy and interiority of sally rooney’s writing despite the fact that the material is stretched thin over the 12 episodes, and the actors have barely any chemistry. and the changes made from the novel certainly don’t help because they dilute the all the complexities and tensions created by the age and class dynamics that make the relationships so interesting. it’s pretty and vibey and the actors do their very best, but overall it just doesn’t quite hit :/ a real L for all the broke commie gals with daddy issues tbh
