A Case for Casting

Having been made by my housemate to watch a Pat Shortt clip I found mostly insufferable, I got to thinking about casting vs acting: I adore Shortt in Garage, but it's less a great performance than a great piece of casting. What he brings to the role in our expectations and the way the movie around him plays with them is far superior to what his performance actually contributes (not to say he's not good). Not often enough do we appreciate such things. Here are some more of my favourites; what're yours?
