I don’t know if Shyamalan is under strict supervision to keep the run time under 2 hours or what but every dialogue is stilted with no natural flow whatsoever. Everything is moving at a brisik pace but not in a good way. Exposition is thrown about, plot point is touched upon and left just as abruptly. The best thing I can say about this is that it’s a mess with interesting ideas.

At one point I thought it was about a girl discovering her sexuality for the first time, at another I thought it was about a guy who performs erotic asphyxiation (the Gallows title and the stuff about him meeting God), at another I thought it was about a guy feeling sinful for being sexual, at another I thought it was about life itself, the start of it and the end of it.
For me, this short requires 2nd viewing, but…
