God where do I start… I don’t think there could be a more perfect adaptation of my absolute favorite childhood book, Wes Anderson, you’ve done it again. I don’t think there will ever be another movie that’ll make me feel this happy, warm and melancholic!! (It’s a good thing) the music is so amazing along with the amazing performances of the actors, George Clooney is AMAZING as mr fox and I could not imagine another voice for him, Jason Schwartzman, one of my favorite actors knocks it out of the park as Ash and I really loved willem dafoe as the rat for some reason?!!! And boy oh boy the characters, mr fox everyone can relate to at least a little bit, hes confident, or at least holds up that image, while still trying to impress everyone. Ash I want to hug hes so sweet and a little too much like his dad, in ways that mr fox despises about himself, telling Ash he was actually “wanted” also makes him accept a part of himself he hated, which I think is such amazing character development for them both. I wanna go back to the music because HOLY FUCK? The title song is so good and ‘hopeful’ it makes me wanna cry, it’s so special and recognizable, and it has me feeling some type of way… the rest of the score is brilliant and so tune with the vibe of the movie! Just talking about this movie makes my heart feel so incredibly full, this is, in my opinion, one of the best movies ever made, with zero flaws and an always interesting plot, while still remaining the most beautiful and intricate cinematography. I wish I could watch this movie forever!!! thank you so much Wes Anderson for directing and ‘adapting’ (???) this so perfectly and thank you Roald dahl for writing one of my favorite stories ever.
