One of the most haunting and stark portrayals of all-encompassing loneliness that I've ever seen. Like watching a slow motion car crash, you sit there and watch the comedian endure a slow but inevitable emotional collapse that ends with no hope and no resolution. Truly sad and disturbing. The kind of film that gets under your skin and doesn't leave even after the film has long ended. I genuinely don't think any other actor could've pulled this off the way Turkington does. Basically a masterpiece.
