cruise sets out to save the adult drama by smuggling one into a cool movie for bros where planes go zoom zoom. knew I was in the right place when the mission impossible trailer, the jerry bruckheimer logo, and then finally the “and val kilmer” credit all got raucous rounds of applause. kept checking on the old guy next to me and he spent the entire third act with a big ol’ silly grin on his face. movies are so good and the theatrical experience is so important :)
