AThousandSons’s review published on Letterboxd:
First, let me say “The Wall” isn’t even in my top 5 Pink Floyd albums. This version differs from the 1982 film version in that this has Water’s presence much more apparent. Of course, this is primarily a quite elaborately staged concert, updated for a contemporary audience (most of the concert goers looked to be in their 30s), with moments of Waters’ trip from England to Anzio interspersed through its runtime.
It is quite a difference watching this and thinking back to the kinds of concerts I used to go to back in the day. Who’s to say whether a mediated and familiar experience like this is better or worse than what could be considered as a rock concert you’d attend?
