there ain’t no way i’m going to be sharing anything resembling insightful thoughts about this cause honestly i just had a blast and i loved it so much. it didn’t hit the heights of greta gerwig’s two previous masterpieces upon first viewing but it was pretty close! i’m so happy that she is now 3/3 giving me beautiful theatre experiences. greta seriously may be my favorite writer/director working today, her films just make me happy πŸŽ€πŸ’ž

β€œnow i am become death, the destroyer of worlds.”

i know that’s the easiest quote to include but it’s pretty sick! although i never noticed it was grammatically incorrect before…. or is it not? am i stupid? it doesn’t seem like it’s correct. but anyways, cillian murphy is one of the most incredible actors working today. he is always phenomenal and he is definitely the main reason i was so drawn into this story. of course nolan made the movie look insane and all that but it really was cillian murphy’s performance that held it all down for me.

the logic was non existent in this movie. the time travel aspect literally made no sense, i didn’t get the rules whatsoever. and sheila (kaley cuoco) was totally unhinged from the first minute and it doesn’t really make sense that gary (pete davidson) would be so into her right away when she comes in so hot. she truly was so unhinged, i didn’t understand it. kaley did what she could with the performance but the character was pretty insufferable, she could only do so much… pete was great and i think he definitely did something different here than he has in the past.

this movie contains characters who own confederate throw pillows, fly confederate flags, and cosplay as confederate soldiers. and we are supposed to like these characters. πŸ‘ŽπŸΌ besides them, not one other character was likable (except maybe jean smart)Β and the β€œlove story” was forced as hell.. like do these two people even like each other?

β€œi can’t control her, just like i can’t control the weather”

    yeah ok…
