Kevin Feige listened to Hologram from Vox Lux and thought ‘well I know what our next film is gonna be about!’
I went in not really caring about Far From Home, wondering why this would be the closer to the Infinity Saga but honestly, this is the final chapter we really needed. Dabbling in the same light hearted fate we typically get from Ant Man, FFH knows like it’s protagonist that it has big shoes to fill, and wisely doesn’t try to be bigger than it has to be. It’s a sweet summer vacation film that just so happens to be about a struggling teen superhero. I’m still not 100% sold on Mysterio’s arc which definitely feels like a wasted opportunity but Gyllenhaal sells it as one of the more charismatic Marvel villains. Oh, and this film is visually stunning. One of Marvel’s best non-Avengers outings.
MAKE SURE YOU STAY FOR THE CREDITS SCENES. GAME CHANGERS AND A HUGE ASS CAMEO. FUCK.
