Houston Coley’s review published on Letterboxd:
The phrase “the movie we need right now” is overdone but holy wow it blows my mind that this movie was made and put out at exactly this time, after a year of upheaval and intense conversation about these ideas and cultural movements. Even some of the smaller elements, like one of the female characters talking about the power of poetry, seem to correlate in an amazing way with current moments like Amanda Gorman’s speech at the inauguration. I don’t know who is more noteworthy to praise, Kaluyaa or Stanfield. Both are incredible. But I know this movie filled me with rage and I loved it.
