This is a complete disaster. The only decent parts of the film are the booby traps/home defence bit but putting that in with no real context around it is completely misunderstanding what made the original Home Alone a good film. In Home Alone they got away with Kevin being an irritating little shit because in Macauley Culkin they had someone who could turn it around in the third act and make you smile. They don't have that here. Also, in Home Alone, there were villains. Genuine bad people doing bad things, which gave us a reason to cheer Kevin on. In Home Sweet Home Alone there are not.
Early on Rob Delaney's irritating brother complains that films shouldn't be remade and classics should be left alone. It's a less than subtle jab at the movie's own existence but it's true. Why do this? What was the point? They changed some things around so it wasn't a shot for shot remake but honestly, a shot for shot remake would be better than this. The only saving grace is Ellie Kemper, playing Pam, one of the would-be home invaders. However she's clearly a nice person so I don't want to see her get her feet set on fire and get shot with darts. It just makes Max, this year's Kevin, look like a bigger asshole.
A total pass, if you were considering it, which you shouldn't. Hey, Home Alone is also on Disney+ so just watch that instead.
