as a fate of the furious defender (aka the other one with the debilitating behind the scenes conundrums) this sure does play like a lesser version of that. where fate is bombastic melodrama, this is non-stop bombast, chopped up and barely coherent in its own universe’s logic. the script is full of eulogizing on the death of the human action star in a world of tech and drones and chaos, which would be interesting if the film decided to reign…

joe and i saw this a month ago!!! whoops. Really dug the hopping through time during this one though, probably the boldest structural decision i’ve seen in a hong. The impact of being in a familiar location with different temporal context……..real as hell dude! maybe this one’s underrated???? idk. joe had a good nap though
