Logan Kenny’s review published on Letterboxd:
the ending to this film is one of the most dramatically inept things I’ve ever seen in a critically acclaimed festival movie, cannot believe this screenplay got greenlit and executed in this manner. Stewart tries her best but it’s impossible to give a great performance in the style that Larrain directs his lead actresses, all quivering voices and panicked eyes without any soul or tangible humanity. there’s no room to breathe for his leads, just excessive gesturing. the weakest work from my favourite actress of a generation is gonna win her an Oscar, this always happens to me. an empty shell of a film that has as little to say about the corruption of the monarchy and the tolls its influence can take on the body as the previous Diana biopic. cannot believe what people will put up with because of nice cinematography and a Jonny Greenwood score.
