It just so happens that when my mom was in town visiting, my favorite theater here had an early screening of this, one of my most anticipated movies of the year!
Just when I thought this movie had laid all of its ~knives out~, the twists kept coming. I kept trying to figure out where it was headed, but my suspicions never stopped shifting. There's a unique and specific sense of humor that really makes this movie stand out—I donut think I've seen a movie this goofy and witty so far this year.
Rian Johnson is definitely one of the most exciting filmmakers working today (hoping every day that we get an official announcement/release dates for his STAR WARS trilogy) and wholly original movies like this get me even more excited for the future of his career. One of my favorite things to see in a movie is Daniel Craig playing anybody but James Bond, and he is so awesome and against type in this. His performance is like prosciutto—it's hammy, but in the finest way. Every performance is great, and the differences between all the characters make this such a fun guessing game.
I already can't wait to see this again!
