Antonio W’s review published on Letterboxd:
The essential sequel. It's richer, more grand in scale, and only increases the potency of the first installment (when taking the long view of Michael's arc especially, it's just exquisite).
The flashback structure is used so elegantly, informing the present day stuff without putting too fine of a point on what it's saying and doing. The Corleone journey is the American journey: from Europe to Ellis Island to New York to expansion in the West and across the world. And in telling that story it perfect captures the mixture of hope and rot and the heart of the American Dream.
Also I love Fredo!!! The little weasel just wants a little bit of love and respect!!!!!
