Not unlike The Nice Guys, I strongly reacted to moments in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2, but I never felt like those reactions were earned--I felt wholly manipulated. I wish I had a switch to turn off my laughter and/or emotions when I feel like a movie hasn't done its due diligence with me. I really don't like crying or laughing when I think a film was cheap in getting there.
