such a carefully crafted, beautiful film.. you can tell how personal it was to lee isaac chung and how much of a tribute it was to his family, and especially to his grandmother. i found myself identifying so much with the dynamic between david and soonja just in my own experiences with a grandmother who immigrated to the u.s. later in her life, creating cultural differences between us that i had to grow to understand and love.. from the story’s timing to its characters, minari is just perfect through and through
