Andrew Moncrieff’s review published on Letterboxd:
Put this on, why not.
It’s probably the best sequel in the series - it has some of the horror of the first movie but it’s more teeny, Dokken on the soundtrack, more fantastical set pieces. I prefer the pure horror of the first movie, this is watered down. And while I like the stop motion skeleton, I don’t really like that Freddy is stopped by an honourable christian burial. What? He was a piece of shit as a human being? Are we take this as evidence that his evil was caused by not being given a decent burial?
But it is really an entertaining film, and while I definitely prefer what Chuck Russell and Frank Darabont did with The Blob a year later, they did bring a lot of spirit to it.
