    This is a banger. Absolutely brutal, merciless violence, deliciously eighties and twistier with its narrative than you may expect. A Neon (sic) noir, action thriller I enjoyed very much. So many headshots and moments of ocular trauma.     Everyone knows the story behind this film, but I only knew it as rumour. Alex Hyde-White’s take is that the film was supposed to be released but Marvel buried it.     I am so happy to see this unseen footage from Superman II that I find it hard to be objective. There are logistical problems to Superman’s solution to Lois throwing herself out of the Daily Planet’s window (why did no one see Clark shooting a red lazer from his eyes?), which evaporate in the Niagara falls version of this sequence from the theatrical cut.
