Was a huge fan of 5 Second Films as a teenager and am always down for cheesy slashers, so I'm not sure why it took my so long to watch this, because it's extremely my shit.
The humor is low-brow for the most part, but that doesn't stop it from being incredibly clever. It has such a specific brand of absurdity that's so entertaining. I laughed harder at "Jimmy Galoshes" than I have at just about anything else in quite a while. This is the same kind of horror parody as Astron-6's The Editor, that was clearly made with a deep love and understanding of the genre. They absolutley nail the shot-on-video aesthetic. The second act definetly drags a little, but this is still so much fun, and there are so many great cameos too.
EDIT: Apparently one of the sorority girls in the Jimmy Galoshes scene is played by actual genocidal rapist Lily Cade so I guess we just can't have nice things.
