I remember I was really excited when I first heard about this film being announced, especially since Ana de Armas was going to take the role of Marilyn. At that time, I couldn't even imagine her playing Marilyn. When I saw the first images of her for the film, I was honestly shocked at the resemblance. It's like if Ana had actually summoned Marilyn Monroe's spirit to take over her body. It's just impressive how she embodies…

    Scooby-Doo on Zombie Island

"This time, the monsters are real."

Scooby-Doo on Zombie Island is the film that broke the formula, and revolutionised a franchise that was becoming stale. As much as I treasure the classic Scooby-Doo show, we have to admit that it is quite formulaic and predictable. Nothing supernatural actually happens, everything has a rational explanation. It's always the same in almost every single episode. The gang goes to a new place where there's some kind of monster, ghost, demon or evil…

Check out my BEST OF 2022 list.

A list of the 2022 releases I consider the best. It took me a little longer than expected. This time I've become a bit more selective. It's obviously in progress, since I'm still waiting for some 2022 films to get a wide/VOD streaming release this year. I have some films pending to watch, so I'll be updating the list.

Babylon is pure chaos and excess. Raunchy, frenetic and over-the-top.…

    Soft & Quiet

Soft & Quiet is just not for the faint of heart. It does an excellent job at making you uncomfortable and disgusted, which I believe might be the point. The performances are so convincing that I hope they're just acting because this group of women is execrable. The film is audacious and effective as a horror thriller, however, as a social commentary piece, it leaves much to be desired as it lacks depth. Everything is…

This was a huge surprise. The Batman exceeded my expectations.

There's so much to appreciate here; the cinematography, the score, the sound design, the editing, the pacing, the direction, the performances. This film looks amazing, and it's reminiscent of films like Seven (1995) and Saw (2004). This is more like a mystery thriller, engrossing from beginning to end. It's almost three hours long, but it keeps you always intrigued, I was never bored.

As I said, this film revolves around…

    Me after watching this film:
I sincerely hope I never have kids.

This film got me off guard. I never expected it to make me feel so uneasy.

This film is carried the most by its incredibly talented ensemble of young actors/ actresses. I was genuinely terrified of these kids.

It's beautifully shot, atmospheric and chilling. It creates lots of tension and suspense. The sound design is magnificent. The premise is intriguing. The setting is used to enhance these dark…
