Anchor Rancor’s review published on Letterboxd:
No one does revenge like Park Chan-wook.
I'll admit that all the timeline jumping in the first half was hindering my enjoyment and making things a bit harder to follow than they should be, so I thought I wouldn't like this one nearly as much as his other films. It was getting better fast though, but once there were still 40 minutes left I didn't see where this really had anywhere to go. Turns out it definitely had somewhere to go, and that last act catapulted this to a whole different level. Phenominal movie on all acting, writing and technical fronts.
I'm four movies into Park Chan-wook's filmography, and at this rate he's set to be one of my favorite directors of all time. I know Americans have an easy job at finding the best that foreign cinema has to offer, and that I'm only scratching the surface, but I love these South Korean movies so much.
