There are a lot of aspects about it that I didn’t particularly enjoy, but that doesn’t stop it from being a classic Spike Lee joint. The best two things about it are : 1- Delroy Lindo (I prefer his performance in Malcolm X though), and 2- The cinematography. That 3x4 aspect ratio on film footage looks crisp as fuck. There is a scene at the beginning of the 3rd act that involves a rope and a whole lotta guts. Good stuff. Spike still has his touch to deliver the same message he’s been preaching ever since he first started making films. This film couldn’t have come out at a better time. Respect.
