2023 horror jolts into life, not with a bang but with a cough, in this nail-biting pandemic slasher. Honestly, this has to be on the same level as films like Hush in terms of execution, its so well paced and the tension is unrelenting.
These characters go through shit, and the pain is palpable.
The only real complaint I have is the general overall premise, which is that it is, first and foremost, a pandemic slasher with all that such a premise entails. The killer is a "masked" person in the most arbitrary (and visually boring) sense, and the message of the film is similarly... serviceable.
Again, can't fault the film too much given that IS the premise, but I am sad, nonetheless, that we couldn't have gotten a cooler killer or something along those lines to match such thrilling action.
