Just a trash panda searching for more horror, don't mind me!
The things about this that are great are great (alan tudyk, hannah kasulka's wardrobe, a few moving moments). The things that aren't so great about this though, are just okay (the low budget feel, the twin brother, the wrap up). I still liked this. Also, Alan Tudyk is so underrated and I want to see him in more emotionally complex roles like this, please.
This movie gets an extra star simply because that's how much I personally enjoy it. I love how Flanagan tells a story. This is the most short and straight-forward of his projects, and yet it still holds that human, emotional, character-driven center that has become his trademark. Not to mention how well it is acted and paced. And Kate Siegel. It's not a perfect movie, but it's one that has always resonated and been effective for me. I recommend it.
