This inspiring and frustrating and emotional film is impressive. Centering it on O'Neal really fills the movie/story with so much more than just showing Hampton's rise and fall would have alone. O'Neal is the 'man', the FBI informant keeping watch on Hampton, but also the 'people,' a black man who knows Hampton was on to something important. That tension is the center of this story. It's a real-life Shakespearean drama, is what it is.
