I can't go see these movies on opening night anymore man. Marty was right about Marvel movies being theme park rides. I get that people are just having fun but at the same time, the cheering makes you miss dialogue and bro Benedict Cumberbatch can't hear y'all through the screen! I just think I would've enjoyed this ever so slightly more if I hadn't been so irritated by the theatre crowd.
Anyway, despite the nonsense of the crowd, I did have fun with this. It was really cool to see Sam Raimi's directing style, though I wish he had been allowed to totally go crazy with it! As a former Tumblr girlie, I've always had a soft spot for Benedict Cumberbatch and I thought he was fantastic throughout this movie, but Elizabeth Olsen definitely stole the show. A lot of the jump scares got me too. I was also happy with the introduction of America Chavez played by Xochitl Gomez, and I think the cameos they did include throughout the film were good and not too over the top. I'd like to see this again soon hopefully with a quieter crowd!
