The Vampire Lovers is an erotic Hammer / AIP film which is also a vampire horror film. If you want some character development, forget it, it's mostly about stunning ladies wearing revealing flowing gowns, with perfect hair and full makeup on. It's like looking at a suggestive painting coming to life.
