I am convinced that Daniel Kaluuya and LaKeith Stanfield are some of the best actors working today. They both give great performances throughout. Jesse Plemons isn’t far behind. After seeing him in The Irishman, and now to be the lead in Scorsese’s The Killers of The Flower Moon, I’m looking forward to more from him! All three actors play their roles fantastically and with intensity.
The technical aspects of the film, I thought, were very good. The cinematography had nice shots that really brought the environment to the foreground. From them, you can understand the struggle that the characters felt—living in their beat up, broken down neighborhoods (without government funding to hike the community)—being not only enemies of the state for wanting progress but, simply, for being Black. In the film, this is even shown more overtly by the portrayal of the police officers and FBI agents who deliberately and without hesitation target the Black Panthers. I enjoyed the music within the film, which really heightened the atmosphere and gave a sense of realism to the world presented.
This was a great watch that I definitely plan to watch again in the future.
