A Clockwork Orange

A Clockwork Orange ★★★★½

This may not be the accurate reading of this movie but my biggest take away from this movie is how the prison system fails its inmates. Grant it idk how the prison system is in the UK but I know it’s heavily fucked up in America. We see the main character Alex (who is a garbage human being) go to prison and get exposed to more violence and then as soon as he gets out he’s rejected by his parents, assaulted by police, and abused by society. At the end of the film it implies that Alex is going to go back to his old ways because he never had a support system. He’s just going to go back to what he knows and that’s crime and violence.

Also Kubricks is a genius filmmaker. This film has some of the most iconic shots in the history of cinema. The camera perfectly captures the chaos and brutality of this dystopian future.
