Belfast ★★★

I think this really deserved to breathe a little more. I’m often over the moon about a lean 90-minute runtime but there is an abundance of wholesome, heartbreaking, and magical moments that were cut too short to leave a lasting impression—almost like notes about last night's dream hastily scribbled onto a paper before fading from memory.

Can there be a Branagh Cut more akin to Ozu, or even Cuarón’s Roma? A rare case where I would’ve loved for things to linger, especially with how personal this story is to Kenneth.
