I thought I should start the month of horror with a classic that I don't know yet.
Does "Scream" only have cult status because of the famous mask, the meta humor or the references to other horror classics?
I honestly can't explain it any other way...I mean I don't think it's bad and the first half in was actually pretty solid. Furthermore, this film has some cool kills, but in general it's not really scary or exciting either 😅
In cases like this, I don't care what the film has achieved/how many it has influenced, because I don't really like it overall and why should I give it a better rating because of the influences.
However....it just wasn't my cup of tea
but I'm happy for those who have fun with this every year.
