Akash Suresh’s review published on Letterboxd:
"I killed Dietrichson — me, Walter Neff, insurance salesman, 35 years old, unmarried, no visible scars — until a while ago, that is. Yes, I killed him. I killed him for money and for a woman. I didn’t get the money and I didn’t get the woman. Pretty, isn’t it?"
The nerve Billy Wilder had to include this confession right at the beginning of Double Indemnify and then take us for a ride like none another!...Wilder defining film noir before not even knowing the existence of such a thing and I'll never get enough of his masterpiece!!!
///"I never heard that expression film noir when I made Double Indemnity ... I just made pictures I would have liked to see. When I was lucky, it coincided with the taste of the audience. With Double Indemnity, I was lucky."/// --- Billy Wilder
