#15th Film of 2022
Didn’t quite now what to expect coming into this, but my did it blow me away…
( I feel like I’ve said that a lot recently)
This is the tale of Nic Cage’s character Robin Feld and his truffle pig with whom he has a strong loving bond. One night the pig is stolen and Robin is left beaten in his isolated home in the woods, so he sets out to find it again….
A very simple premise, but the film’s visual style and Nic Cage’s much calmer, more collected performance are what make this so excellent.
One of the great works dealing with loss and mourning. And additionally an excellent debut feature film.
