Damn definitely better than I thought it was gonna be. Probably the most interesting way of showing Batman’s origin in a movie and incorporated the whole “curse of Batman” element into it (which was really strong the Burton films ahh my beloved) rather than it just being out of a sense of duty.
The whole cosmic judgment element of the Coens movies isn’t defined by any one movie but when they all get tied together then theme really becomes evident.
Like each characters fate reflects how they behave throughout the movie, the criminals are killed and arrested, Jerry gets caught but Marge who’s this center of good in this movie does good and while the others are all being caught and punished shes cuddled up in bed with her spouse awaiting their kids…

I go back and forth on this a lot but after this rewatch this is my favorite Lynch movie/work. Lynch is one of my favorite artists and what I love so much about his work is all in this and in full blast.
