WHY WASN'T THIS GIVEN A THEATRICAL RELEASE!? This could've been a sleeper hit with some great marketing instead of being dumped to Hulu. For shame, Fox Searchlight. For shaaaame.

Regardless, this was a great romantic comedy. David Jonsson & Vivian Oparah had great chemistry as Dom and Yas, two people who endured bad relationships and are kind of stagnant in their lives. Through their unexpected meet-up, they spend the day opening up and getting to know each other.

Saw this due to the hilarious episode of the "How Did This Get Made?" podcast (along with vaguely recalling watching this when it aired on Channel 11 when I was a kid).

It's a sorta-"Ghostbusters" riff that involves a cranky ex-cop (John Larroquette), a parapsychologist (Stuart Pankin) and lastly a psychic (Bronson Pinchot) with a fluctuating level of powers. It's only occasionally funny, and definitely needed a bigger budget (some of the visual effects are pretty bad, especially in the third act).

Warner Bros. should try and remake this.

    Great animation.

    Creative camera work.

    Interesting story.

    Fun John Williams score.

Solid action sequences (That one-take chase scene? Fantastic!)

In closing: A fun, fast-paced and entertaining adventure. Can't wait for the sequel!

    Highly recommended.

    Nostalgia in full effect!

The tale of a group of young prehistoric creatures on a long, dangerous journey to a safe haven (The Great Valley) is just as engaging, touching and entertaining as it was when I saw it as a kid.

Don Bluth and his team did an excellent job on the animation that still holds up to this day. The same goes for the late James Horner's great music score. I felt like a kid again; memories of…
