Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse ★★★★★

I am completely at a loss for words. Gwen’s confrontation with her dad resonated with me that I only noticed the tears flowing from my eyes because it blurred my vision. To be loved for who we are is such a nuanced situation that most people can relate to at some point in their life and the film perfectly depicted the catharsis of letting your feeling out, especially to the one you’d hate to see being disappointed at you (a.K.a your parents for Asian people out there).

There’s so much to talk about and I feel not capable to unpack it all but all I can say is I have not feel the time passing by despite this being a film longer than 2 hours. Everything is just right—the pacing, the animation, the twists—and the teaser of an ending made me so pumped to see what is going to happen next. It is also organically done unlike the bad cliffhanger Fast X left to its viewers to have a reason to pump more from the franchise.

God, I really want to watch this again (which I think I will) and I hope this spontaneous review made you want to watch it too because it is definitely worth your 2 hours.
